WE NEED A VISUAL ARTS CATEGORY ON YOUTUBE THREAD-www.google.com Dear WillofDC, You are YouTube's official news person. I am writing you to inform you of an art movement that is underway. The artists of YouTube are working together to advocate for a new visual arts category on YouTube. There is a large amount of really talented visual artists who upload their work to YouTube; but we can't find each other because our work is scattered between the how to and style, education and film and animation categories and buried under make up tutorials, cooking and workout videos. Great art is often unappreciated in the era in which it was created. For instance, Vincent Van Gogh sold only a handful of paintings in his lifetime, but after his death, his work was considered ground breaking. What YouTube has done for the visual arts is unprecedented in arts history! We can now, not only communicate with each other, but we can see how an artwork is created. YouTube has also changed the patronage system in art through its partner program. I used to strive to get in to an art gallery, but now I am fortunate enough to be a YouTube partner. Everyone with a computer and an internet connection now owns my work, rather than a single person. With some foresight, it is easy to see that YouTube will be seen by future generations as the greatest Art museum and the greatest university of the early 21st century, but the leaders at YouTube don't seem to realize the scope of what they currently manage <b>...</b>

Hello youtube and greetings youtubers. You might not have heard of me, but that is not a problem at all. So hey, that is me you can see drawing right there. I am Thambark and i am a youtube member since 2009. i was inspired by the many videos responding to this video by Merrill www.youtube.com which you can open when you click the link. You can say that it started the "visual arts movement" on youtube. So i decided to make my personal response to the video and to involve myself in this discussion. Most people that i know don't know how to draw, which is very sad because art is something everyone comes across in his live, aware or unaware of it. And (if you take drawing as an example) it is not only outstanding fun but it can train your specific, visual and holistic thinking process, from which you can benefit in your everyday life. What does this have to do with youtube and where is the problem ? Now the main problem is not that there aren't enough sophisticated artists who submit tutorials for art or their own pieces from which you can learn of. The central problem is that it is hard to search for art because youtube doesn't provide a visual arts category yet and this simple fact will detain youtube's artists from sharing their knowledge and only a limited amount of their possible audience can be reached. And this is why i think why we need a youtube visual arts category. It would not only ease the possibility to share art worldwide it would really help to communicate <b>...</b>

YouTube Visual Arts Category is Needed and We Need your Help
WE NEED A VISUAL ARTS CATEGORY ON YOUTUBE THREAD-www.google.com Over the past week and a half, YouTube artists have posted in the forums and contributed several compelling videos which advocate for a Visual Arts category. These tactics have worked well enough that we have been acknowledged by a YouTube employee. His response directly addressed the messages that we left. YouTube Kendall wrote "As for the topic for the arts, its an excellent topic." "and one I don't want getting lost inside this thread". Now should we go land on an aircraft carrier and declare victory? Oh hell no. Were smarter than that. This is a marathon, its not a sprint. We have a long way to go, but we have to acknowledge this as a step in the right direction. But what is our next step? We followed YouTube Kendall's suggestion and created a new thread specifically for a YouTube Visual Arts category. Here is what we need to do to succeed. Take a second to hit the link in the video description. Leave a simple comment in our thread. YouTube is owned by Google and Google likes numbers. We will have a better chance of continuing this conversation if we get a lot of people that leave comments. Remember, you dont have to write a book, hit the link in the video description now and just simply write, YouTube needs a Visual Arts category. Kazanjianm, Me and many other artists are trying to get a Visual Arts tab here on YouTube; right now there is none. Visual art is very important, and i think its really unfair that we dont have our own category. we have to put our videos under "How To and Style" "Education" or "Film and Animation", but none of these categories really fit... If you think about it my videos dont really fit any category lol. How to and style? Eh Maby. Film and animation? no. Education? i dont think so. If you are one of the top subscribed, don't Category Game. It's greedy. Also, don't make videos and tweet at YouTubers who do this, and then go and do it. It's incredibly Hypocritical. Hey make ART a YouTube category‼! great idea CheekyChen! inspiring video :) so I thought I should contribute and film a doodle i made with the words make art [I was supposed to read a really long and annoying report and this is the result ;) ... lol] the T was supposed to be a tree but alas it ended up looking like the hammer in the Pink Floyd vid anyways the song is, yes you guessed it the Penis Song by Eric Idle probably the only entertaining part of this vid hmm ..
