Best Science Fiction Movies: Top 5 Tuesday
bit.ly - Click to Subscribe! Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! Hey everyone thanks so much for tuning back into clevver movies, Im Tatiana Carrier with your top 5 Tuesday! With the release of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace 3D this Friday we countdown the top 5 sci/fi films of all time! . Coming in at 5. The Matrix--- The Matrix was just the kick in the pants the sci-fi genre needed. It combined sci-fi, action and introduced the groundbreaking bullet time effect. Though the technology ended up being overused in just about every commercial made since the film's release and two crap-tastic sequels followed, the film was the perfect swan song to the 20th century. Aliens comes in 4th place--- Though many would probably select Ridley Scott's 'Alien' in the top 5, James Cameron's sequel 'Aliens' was simply, in our opinion, a more entertaining movie. Less horror and more action, the film pits Sigourney Weaver's Ripley against the mother of all aliens as she and a crew of Colonial Marines try to discover what happened to the colonists who have settled the planet where Ripley and the crew of the Nostromo first encountered the aliens. 3rd place goes to The Empire Strikes Back ---- Here's another sequel that trumps the original. Though Star Wars was a huge box office success when released in 1977 and has spawned countless sequels, tv shows, books and video games, The Empire Strikes back is just an all-around better movie. It's questionably one of the ...

Name that Villain: Bad guys and Aliens in Sci-fi Movies
Who was the bad guy in the movie, ET The Extraterrestrial? How about District Nine? Sometimes, the villains are obvious, as in Independence Day or Lord of the Rings - in other flicks, the real bad guy may not be who you think it is. Science Fiction author David Brin talks about aliens - and villainy - in science fiction movies.

The Best Science Fiction films from all over the World (Non-American) (Part 4)
I created this list in response to many comments in my other clips. Many people noticed that in the sci fi list previously shown i didn't list many movies from other countries. Well this was mainly because i was planning another list with other movies from various latitudes: Europe, Soviet Union, Latin America and even Oceania. Why two lists? Well maybe because it would be easier to appreciate the differences between average films from the west (mainly american) and films of different styles and themes from others countries (both eastern and Western): In the fourth part you will see: 12.- Moebius (1996) 11.- La Montaña Sagrada (The Holy Mountain) (1973) 10.- La Jetee (1962) 9.- Cronocrimenes (Timecrimes) (2007) 8.- The Quiet Earth (1985) The music comes from Franz Falckenhaus (Legowelt) album "The Lost Border" (2008), tracks: "Hotel Tap", "Wuppertal Schwebebahn" and "Thursday Telephasis". I remind you that this is a personal list, i have seen every movie in the videos, so you can ask me everything you want. Also you can comment whatever you want (with respect...maybe some of the viewers will think i'm wrong, but i hope you watch all the videos before you post your comments). I hope you like it!!!! Please comment!!!

How science fiction time travel paradoxes could be avoided
Time travel movies always have paradoxes, which prevent them from seeming possible. In this video I explain four ideas, or time travel methods which could be used in time travel stories without any paradoxes existing. Let me know what you think, and whether or not you can follow my logic, or lack thereof :)

Experimental Science Fiction Music
One of my first Kompoz projects. An attempt to create an otherworldly and disturbing score for a horror/sci-fi film. I'm something of a Bernard Herrmann fan. Bernard Herrmann did scores for the original version of the Twilight Zone on TV. He also did the music for Psycho, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Vertigo, Fahrenheit 451, and Cape Fear to name a few. So there is some of his influence here, and also Forbidden Planet's music by Bebe Barron and her husband Louis, a completely electronic score where it's hard to tell the music from the background sound effects, they merge into one. The sound of that film, as far as I know, remains unique in its strange and alien sound even today. Kompoz site: www.kompoz.com My site on Kompoz: www.kompoz.com
